Our story
Cap ‘M’ Audio was founded by Wijnand Kleijweg, whose love for music and passion for optimizing home audio playback led to the creation of a company focused on exceptional sound quality. The name “Cap ‘M’ Audio” stands for “Capital Music in Audio Reproduction,” which reflects Wijnand’s mission: to use his expertise in programming, design, and electrical systems to elevate the experience of music at home.
Wijnand Kleijweg (Founder & Head Engineer at Cap ‘M’ Audio):
“For as long as I can remember, I have loved working with and listening to high-end audio systems. I was born in 1973, but let’s skip the early years and jump right into the journey that started in 2009 with my first streaming DAC.”
“Streaming audio! I could rephrase this as a continuous study—trial and error—with cables, streamers, DACs, software, power supplies, filters, isolators, clocks, measurements, forums, audio groups, and more.”
“What I have learned from this study is that the electronic reproduction of music adds one thing compared to the live event: noise. To get closer to the music, you either have to avoid the addition of noise along the chain or eliminate the noise at the end of the chain. That is what we will do at Cap ‘M’ Audio.”
Wijnand is supported by Erika Romijn, who manages the accounting and administration, as well as website maintenance. She also provides moral support! 😀
